NOLO TASTING | Public Event at Equal Parts
Monday 08.01.24

Amidst the festive season's indulgence, we transition into the new year, aiming for a refreshing start. Over the past few years, we've taken pride in collaborating with some of the most exciting names in the realm of innovative low and no-alcohol beverages available in the market. And now, as January approaches, it is the perfect time to showcase these remarkable creations.

This January, we are bringing together the creative minds behind the projects Muri, AMA Brewery, and Botivo. All three brands use the most authentic natural ingredients and uniquely crafted techniques to create truly intriguing beverages. This presents a wonderful opportunity to delve into their projects and learn more about the intricate process behind crafting these drinks. Throughout the event, our featured producers will present their full range of products, showcasing the fascinating versatility of these drinks - and demonstrating that you won’t miss the alcohol!

We are over the moon to finally welcome the Gustinella wines, a project of Sonia Gambino.
Sonia’s adventure began in early 2020 when she left the busy city lifestyle in Milan to move to Marsala (Sicily) to work more closely with nature, specifically in the field of winemaking.
Shortly after her move, however, the country shut down due to Covid, resulting in the loss of her new job before it even started. When she found herself unemployed, Sonia returned to her native Maletto and took over an old, slightly decaying property her family used as a vacation home. Here, while the world was on pause, she worked tirelessly to fix up the place and spent her time outdoors, growing vegetables and tending the garden.
One afternoon, an old local farmer named Don Vincenzo, who happened to own a small vineyard but was struggling to keep up with it, asked Sonia whether she'd be interested in checking out the plot with the intention of possibly leasing it to her. Soon after, the duo found themselves clearing out a corner in Don Vincenzo's abandoned garage, and so Gustinella was born.

Farming sustainably in the Txakoli region is no easy task, but to produce wines that channel the spirit of the Loire Valley superstar, Richard Leroy, from biodynamically-farmed Hondarrabi Zerratia and Izkiriota Txikia seemed pretty mind-blowing to us.

Based in the Bizkaiko DO, Alfredo Egia produces some of the most compelling and forward-thinking Txakoli we’ve ever come across. These wines sound pretty radical when compared to the regular production for the region, as not many before him have been so determined to harness the intense energy of these local varieties and elevate them to a new dimension altogether.

It took a little while, but at last the latest and final vintage of Domaine Belluard, soon-to-be Domaine du Gringet is here. A few stints from the Swiss border, in the district of Ayze (Savoie) the world’s remaining 20ha of Gringet are farmed, half of which are owned by the Belluard’s. After Dominique Belluard’s passing, and without an immediate successor to take over, the estate precipitated in a state of emergency while the season was in full swing. And it was then that Valérie, Dominique’s partner, opened up to the idea of selling the Domaine.

Known for his various projects across California and Oregon - such as Sandhi, Domaine de la Cote and Evening Land just to name a few - Rajat Parr is a famous sommelier, successful author and talented winemaker who has most recently taken on a new project in Cambria.

Convinced that the most fundamental part of winemaking takes place in the vineyard and drawn north from his Santa Barbara home, he decided to set up camp between the mountains and the Pacific coast, and more precisely at Phelan Farm, a small family estate located just a few miles off the Pacific Ocean on Steiner Creek, which dates back to 1851.

An exciting new addition from Greece, Voï is Jason Liga’s latest, solo-adventure, sourcing grapes from vineyards planted on Mount Olympus. Voï stands for ‘roar’ in Greek, representing the powerful and deep connection Jason has with nature by being in the vineyard and how expressive this can allow him to be. The vines he farms range from 15 up to 100 years old, mostly located within the old Rapsani appellation.
