JULIE DUFOUR

Landreville
Champagne

In the Dufour family, after her brother Charles and her mother Françoise Martinot, here comes Julie.

Based in Landreville, a small village in the heart of the Côte des Bar, Julie took over the family’s domaine and holdings (4.3ha) in 2012, which she continues to farm to this day. Today Julie sells part of her grapes and vinifies the remaining part under her own label (approximately 3,000 bottles).

Winemaking
The base wine comes from the 2019 vintage. The peculiarity of this cuvée is that no liqueur de tirage is used for the secondary fermentation but rather Chardonnay from the 2020 vintage, fermented in

damejeanne for over a year. The Chardonnay was initially intended to be a small batch production wine for

Julie’s own consumption. It was Charles’ idea to use this wine as tirage instead (hence the name Binôme). Disgorged in August 2021.
